Dr Stephen Godfrey

Dr Godfrey is one of the founding partners of Outlook Eye Specialists. He is a born and bred Queenslander and a graduate of the University of Queensland Medical School. After 7 years as a GP and country medical superintendent in the central west of Qld, Dr Godfrey completed ophthalmology training in Brisbane. He obtained further experience at Taunton Hospital in Somerset, England, before settling on the Gold Coast in 1999.

Dr Godfrey is President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) Queensland Branch, a National RANZCO Examiner, and a Visiting Medical Officer at Gold Coast University Hospital, training and supervising registrars. Dr Godfrey is a general ophthalmologist treating all eye conditions, with a special interest in cataract and ocular plastic surgery. He is also heavily committed to the outreach eye surgery program in remote North Queensland. Dr Godfrey operates at Pacific Private Hospital (Southport), John Flynn Hospital (Tugun), and Gold Coast University Hospital.
